The Central Australian Women’s Legal Service team are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of an Aboriginal woman in Alice Springs/Mparntwe last week, for which her partner has now been charged with murder.
We express our solemn support for her family, friends and community as they mourn an unfathomable loss ❤️
As we take more time to process the news, we commit to further strengthening our resolve to advance the dignity, safety and wellbeing of all women ✊ We continue to stand in solidarity with our colleagues across the DV sector in the call for urgent action and resourcing to respond to the highest rates of intimate partner violence in the country ⚠️
