The National Summit on Women’s Safety

Over the past week, Managing Principal Solicitor, Janet Taylor, participated in ‘The National Summit on Women’s Safety’ as a delegate representing the Women’s Legal Services NT  – this was an important step towards developing the next National Plan to end violence against women and children.

🗣️ The Summit brought together a range of experts, advocates, service providers and people with lived experience to explore issues and provide solutions faced by women and their children experiencing violence in Australia.

All Northern Territory delegates are passionate that a whole of community collaborative approach is required to make real change – Domestic and Family Violence is EVERYONE’s Business ✊

Platitudes won’t protect women and children nor end domestic, family and sexual violence.

The WLSNT looks forward to working with the Commonwealth Government on the implementation of the new National Plan on Violence Against Women and their Children.
