📍 CAWLS was delighted to share our work through the ‘Strengthening and Sharing our Practice Conference’ held in Mpartnwe/Alice Springs earlier this month 📖
👥 The conference brought together members of the DFSV sector from across the Territory, to learn and to collaborate 🤝
🗣️ We were grateful for the opportunities to showcase our innovative approaches to access to justice for women in Central Australia and the Barkly, including ⬇️
◼️ CAWLS newly formed Criminal Team ran an intensive workshop on responding to misidentification
◼️ Julia Parkin, CAWLS ‘Respect@Work‘ lead, delivered a workshop in partnership with the NT Working Women’s Centre
◼️ Together with ASH Hospital, CAWLS shared reflections on the process of establishing and maintaining one of Australia’s longest lasting Health Justice Partnerships
◼️ CAWLS shone the spotlight on ‘uHaven‘ – the product of intensive co-design with young people, and provided guidance for the sector to use it as a strengths-based interviewing tool and;
◼️ CAWLS School Lawyer co-presented with another member of the Centralian Senior College Wellbeing team, highlighting the initial impacts of the first ever school lawyer program in the NT
💬 We equally were delighted to hear and learn from our colleagues across a range of organisations, and look forward to the next SSOP Conference in 2026 👏
