State of the Sector 2022–23 Survey Report: A Sector in Crisis

📃 Today, Community Legal Centres Australia launched the ‘State of the Sector 2022-2023 Survey Report: A Sector in Crisis’, calling for an urgent investment of an additional $125 million for community legal centres in the May 2024 budget 🆘

💡 Drawing particular attention to the challenges for community legal centres in remote areas, the report paints a vivid picture of a sector in crisis and the key drivers of this crisis including chronic underfunding and increased demand ⚠️

📣 CAWLS echoes the call for an urgent commitment to additional funding. Investing appropriately in CLC’s and gendered specialist services makes economic sense – saving our community the extraordinary costs associated with the burden of unmet legal need.
