Over the past three months, our team has strategically expanded to welcome seven new staff, across both our legal and non-legal departments.
👤 Julianna Marshall, CLE & Policy Solicitor
Julianna joins the CAWLS team as CLE & Policy Solicitor. Jules moved from Victoria, where she worked in a wide-range of roles including Judicial Education Manager at the Judicial College, Senior Associate to the President of the Court of Appeal and Aide to the Governor of Victoria.
👤 Jordan Smyth, Junior Solicitor
Jordan joins the team in her first role as Junior Solicitor. Jordan moved from a commercial law firm based in Melbourne and has previously interned at Community Legal Centres throughout her studies at RMIT University. Namely, the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women and Kimberley Community Legal Service.
👤 Machiko Raheem, Junior Solicitor
Machiko moved to Alice Springs from the Gold Coast, where she was admitted as a Queensland Legal Practitioner. Machiko has a keen interest in Domestic Violence, Family and Human Rights Law and has spent a majority of her time volunteering at Community Legal Centres in Australia and the Solomon Islands.
👤 Grace Dee Macauley, Women’s Safety & Wellbeing Court Practitioner
Grace joins CAWLS as the new role of Women’s Safety and Wellbeing Court Practitioner. Grace has lived and worked as a Social Worker in Central Australia for the past 3 and a half years, primarily within the domestic and family violence area – both grassroots and governmental. Grace also has a background of community and international development, both here in Central Australia and India.
👤 Natasha Braun, Financial Capabilities Worker
Natasha joins the team as part of a new financial service offered at CAWLS as a Financial Capabilities Worker. Tash is a true local – born and bred in Alice Springs – and has worked in a financial capacity for 25 years within a number of organisations in Central Australia. Tash has recently returned ‘home’ after being on the Central Coast, NSW where she was working for the NSW Aboriginal Land Council.
👤 Cara Munn, Client Support Worker
Cara comes to CAWLS with experience as a cultural event/tour manager, working extensively throughout multiple Aboriginal communities across Australia. Cara is currently studying her Diploma of Holistic Counselling and brings a calming, positive and supportive energy to the client support space at CAWLS.
👤 Natasa Sarovic, Receptionist
Natasa has recently returned to Alice Springs and joins the CAWLS team as Receptionist with a wealthy background of administrative and customer service experience.
