Mparntwe National Rally Against Violence

⚠️ Violence against women is one of Australia’s most common human rights violations.

👥 Last Friday, we marched through the streets of Mparntwe because of lives loss… because of harm towards women and children daily… because many women and children in our community are living in fear… because we are watching the murdered women and children statistics go up 🚨

📢 Governments are not doing enough and they are not funding frontline services adequately to achieve the work we are meant to do!

We must as a whole community challenge the cultural norms that allow violence against women to continue, including blaming women ✊

Children will not thrive if they witness and grow up with domestic and family violence in their household.

The future costs to the Northern Territory is our health, mental health, addiction, unemployment and the youth and justice system.

We MUST have services well-funded for families to attend and be provided wrap around support.

We HAVE to turn around this situation, for the now, and for the future.
