Landmark hearing to examine handling of domestic abuse cases by UK courts

A landmark hearing in the UK is set to examine handling of allegations of family and sexual violence by family courts ⚖️

Four appeals will be heard together featuring allegations of rape and coercive control, which emerged during proceedings focusing on access to children.

Comments made by the judge in relation to the cases have been criticised 💭 “It should not be taken that just because a woman has consented to sex in the past that she should be taken as consenting every time … I would have hoped that this is an assumption long assigned to the judicial dustbin.”
