ℹ️ In sentencing a man before the Darwin Local Court last week, Judge John Neill stated “the risk of him committing violence upon her is not theoretical – but rather more probable.”
The man was being sentenced for breaching a domestic violence order, that included a condition barring the man from consuming alcohol around the protected person. The evidence before his Honour at the sentencing hearing was that the man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.314 when he was tested by Police. The Court also heard that the man had been previously convicted of 14 domestic violence order breaches as well as other assault offences…
