The inquest before the NT Coroner, Elisabeth Armitage, continues…
ℹ️ The NT Coroner is currently conducting an inquest into the deaths of four women killed by family members. The NT Coroner is exploring whether there are systemic problems in the way that various NT Agencies respond to family violence that lead to these women tragically losing their lives.
📰 On 29 June 2023, The NT News reported on the Police evidence provided to the inquest regarding the death of an indigenous woman at the hands of her husband.

⚖️ At CAWLS, we can provide assistance to women in Central Australia and the Barkly region facing domestic violence. At CAWLS, we can also assist women who have concerns with respect to the Police response, including, if the Police have decided to incorrectly seek a Domestic Violence Order against them, rather than the perpetrator.
CAWLS have chosen not to identify the woman subject of the inquest, out of respect for the family, however acknowledge that the NT News sought permission from all families involved for their story
