Filicides in a Domestic & Family Violence Context Report

👥 CAWLS staff recently attended the report launch of the ‘Filicides in a Domestic and Family Violence Context 2010–2018’ – a joint report by ANROWS and the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Death Review Network 📃

Tragically, between July 2010 and June 2018, 138 Australian children were victims of filicide and in 86% of these cases, there was an identifiable history of domestic and family violence.

As the researchers acknowledged at the launch, there is a critical need for the risk of violence to women to be recognised as a risk of violence to children 🚨
