During this unpredictable time, there has been an overall increase in the amount of people engaging with family violence specific services.
There has also been a rise in perpetrators of violence using COVID-19 as a way to control their partners.
Services are reporting perpetrators stopping women from leaving the home and threatening to expose children to the virus. It is harder for people to contact services during this time and we must keep an eye out for each other.
If it is not safe for someone you know to contact a specialist service, you can do so on their behalf to gain important information and advice.
