Family Court to triage family violence matters within 72 hours

Last week, the Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court announced the establishment of a COVID-19 court list dedicated to deal with urgent parenting disputes, especially those involving issues of risk and family violence ⚖️

The introduction of this list is in response to an increase in the number of urgent applications filed in the Courts over a four-week period in March and April, with a 39 per cent increase in the Family Court and a 23 per cent increase in the Federal Circuit Court.
