DV coronial to explore ‘inevitable’ risks

📰 Further to previous posts regarding coronial inquests being held with respect to the deaths of women in circumstances of domestic violence, the Northern Territory Coroner, Elisabeth Armitage, is this week expected to open another inquest into the death of another woman in the Territory.

⚖️ In this tragic case, the woman was stabbed to death on 4 October 2018. In sentencing the woman’s partner for her death, the NT News reports that, “The Supreme Court heard in graphic detail the years of torment” the woman suffered… 😔

📎 The inquest will investigate concerns about the woman not being accepted by the Family Safety Framework – despite being re-referred for assistance. 📝
