Anthony Jones sentenced after assaulting partner and sister

🗣“Totally unacceptable” were words used by Judge John McBride, when sentencing Anthony Jones for 5 x offences before the Alice Springs Local Court last week.

Anthony Jones was sentenced for two counts of aggravated assault, unlawfully possessing property, breaching bail and disorderly behaviour in a public place 👨‍⚖️

The Court heard that the offending included Mr Jones assaulting his sister and also assaulting his long-term de facto partner in a separate incident weeks later. The facts put before the Court were that Mr Jones assaulted his partner by pouring hot water on her from a billy can, because she refused his demand for her to cook him breakfast.
