2021 Financial Counselling Australia Conference

Last week, Darwin played host to the 2021 ‘Financial Counselling Australia Conference’ – a 2 day conference covering a wide variety of financial hot topics. CAWLS Financial Counsellor, Tania, represented our service and interacted with a number of sessions through the week 🤝

🗣️ Attendees heard from Financial Counsellors who had been deployed to different eastern states to give assistance in financially rebuilding after the recent bushfires and floods. Disaster Financial Counsellors require a specific set of skills which are needed in an immediate aftermath of a disaster and they are often working with people who are totally overwhelmed by grief and loss.  This session flowed nicely into how FC’s can assist clients when it comes to insurance claims – which can be stressful to complete at the best of times.

The conference was a wonderful opportunity for Financial Counsellors from across Australia to meet new faces, catch up with old ones and take home new information to share with their clients 💁
